Visual Art
Art this quarter, we learn about many different kind of form, such as pattern, gradient, texture and contrast. Then Pak Benny told us to make 4 posters to express the topics. Throughout this topics and lessons, my weakness are lack in focus and lack of ideas. My strength was that I was able to get information and able to get that tasks done.
In this lesson I showed Risk taker and Knowledgeable, I showed risk taker, because I take risks when I was making the posters, because actually I was still confused about the topic, but I just do it, and I got quite a good result. Also I showed Knowledgeable because I was able to get all the right information's for each topic.
This was my notes for our big project, and it was the best because I gather all the useful information. I did well when I made 4 posters for each topic and I finished it. I could improve by less talking, more focus and improve my art skills. I showed communicators and thinkers because I always ask Pak Benny if I'm stuck or if I don't understand. Also I think what design should I put in the poster.
This Are My Notes:
Pattern - pattern is a form in which the artist attempts to make an
item - or a few items, in their image repetitive. Artists could make
patterns using shapes or the painting itself can be a pattern. Some
examples of pattern that you might see everyday are : polka dots and
plaid/checks <-- Definition and Characteristics
The 10 Classes of Pattern : Spheres, Mosaics/nests, lattices,
Polyhedra, Spirals-helixes and volutes, Meanders, Branching and
circulation, waves, symmetry and fractals.
Contrast - contrast is when two (mostly colors) have large differences
between them; for example, hot and cold, green and red or light and
shadow
When an artist includes the contrast concept in their artwork it will
give the artwork more life.
Movement - Movement is an act of moving, a change in place or position
can be examples of movement.
-->Type : This can either be actual motion or it can be implied
--> Characteristics : Movement's characteristics are that a painting
or image will show something called a focal point. This is normally
where your eyes will first look at in an image. Movement in paintings
or picture will also give it an illusion of it moving. Movement also
shows the artist's of the painting's objective is to make the painting
seem alive.
Gradient - Gradient is a step-by-step change in an object or painting.
It can be changed by color, shape, size or texture. Gradient also
shows movement. --> Ini definition ama characteristics
--> Types : Gradient can be found in paintings that makes step-by-step
change on color (light-->dark) Size(small -->big), Shape (Square -->
circle) and texture (soft --> Rough)
